A Day out at Daniellas
20 April 2002 We haven't had a day out for a while and it was such a lovely day, a friend invited me round to her yard for a bit of fun and maybe a bit of jumping.
This, as every day, starts as it should with lots of sweeties for the horsies. And when the sweets run out we must hunt out the treats that escaped!
Today its George and Chloe. Chloe is a new prospect in my life. Not satisfied with 4 horses, and yes the beloved Bert is still with me, I feel a stronger than ever urge to grow my equine family. Chloe is very cute and has won me over with her personality ... and the fact she 'Nickers' every time she sees me ... but thats probably got more to do with sweets than me winning her over with my personality!

We are greeted by lots of kids who think the pair are fantastic. George and Chloe have forgotten me almost immediately!

Daniella, who's yard it is, decides she wants to have a sit on George ... she has heard so much about him! Needless to say, I attacked the whole George thing the wrong way. In showing her his 'Polo Pony' side, he completely lost the plot ... and jumping him became impossible! I will know better next time...
I started with Chloe.
Mandie, who invited me out for this spectacular day out is riding her Show jumper 'Paella' ... a stallion no less ... but with the name 'Paella'?
We both had a jump on Paella. Its very different jumping on a horse that 'Does the job'. My style is all wrong ... from endless hours trying to cope with George!
I had a little pop with Chloe, we are still both trying each other. I had no idea what she would do ... and I have to say I think she was very genuine.
What is a stable yard without a dog? ... even a slighly mad dog!
Mandie has a bit of a crush on a bloke ... well a horse called 'Bloke' anyay ... the names are just getting sillier! I asked half heartedly if it was a mare ... you have to check you know!
And this is 'Greyie' ...
Well is good to know Chloe knows how to unwind ... or unroll. I think she went over three times without even trying!
Of course, we all know that George loves to play in sandpits!
They haven't worked together before ... so the timimg will come in time.
Ahhh ... tea break.
If we just stand here we could be good for a few pats and nibbles.
And this fine beast is called ... wait for it ... 'Blacky'!
The real boys come out to play ... but just practice stuff ... tomorrow is competition day.
Hide and seek: Maybe if I curl up real small he won't see me ... Not in that colour!
