Self Schooling George
18 April 2001
Hey George, look its the sweety man again...
Well another Wednesday morning stumbles by. Its been a long time since I had a Wednesday morning jumping lesson. With Bert being off work for over four months now and George with his bad back for the last month, I have really missed my lessons.
Because we are bringing Bert back into work slowly, conentrating on the concept of Stop (or Whooooaaaa), I won't be able to have a jumping lesson until George is back in work. Till then its just walk and trot.
In the mean time I wouldn't want to leave George all alone at home ... he does enjoy his outings, so George comes with.
George is a funny cucumber ... for the whole duration of our one and a half hour lesson, George runs loose in the arena. He spends most of his time following us, cutting of corners here and the ... probably wondering why we are taking the long route across the school.
Every now and again, he will get bored and go in search of some personal attention and/or sweets from my instructor. Having accomplished his change of activity, he comes back in search of Bert, and always seems to stand in our path requiring us to make a detour for which George becomes very indignant which he follows by a sigh after which he continues to follow us in our maneuvers.
I never cease to enjoy the surprise of visiting riders coming for their lessons seeing a loose George wandering round us as we have a riding lesson...
P.S. For the observant ones amongst you who may be wondering if I have suddenly changed gender, the people in these pictures are actually my riding instructor and her daughter, riding Bertie ate the end of my lesson.
